Service Details (Order of Service)
All elements of our services are conducted in decency and in order. Our services are void of entertainment and political correctness. We strive to be fully submitted to the Spirit, to the extent that the order of service may change—especially if the Lord is stressing something of great importance that day.
In addition to those standards, here are a few keynotes about services at Remnant:
Sunday Services
- Service begins at 10 am.
- On occasion, we begin service with a brief period of fellowship, leading into praise and worship.
- Many segments are conducted in open floor format, receiving questions and input from the congregation in a facilitated fashion.
- Sunday services include a praise and worship segment. The entire congregation participates.
- In lieu of stereotypical Sunday School, we conduct a segment that we refer to as "Prelude". Prelude lessons are facilitated by Remnant Christian Assembly's elders, ministers, and teachers. It's like Sunday School, but everyone is involved. At times, the Prelude segment is so enriching that it becomes the lesson for the day.
- Following the announcements, Pastor Hood usually closes the Sunday Service by presenting a formal lesson/exhortation from the scriptures.
- The pastor's notes from service are frequently distributed to the congregation.
- Notes are also scribed during service and sent to subscribers via e-mail on a weekly basis.
- Anyone desiring to be born again will be counseled and arrangements will be made for water baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and seeking the baptism of the Spirit.
Bible Study
- Service begins at 7 pm.
- We usually begin with a brief period of fellowship.
- Once the lesson begins, unless informed otherwise, the congregation may present questions or feedback (when acknowledged).
- The congregation is also challenged to participate in the study through questions, requests for assistance, or standard group discussion.
Special Interest Ministries
- These services are usually conducted on the last Saturday of the month.
- Most Special Interest Ministry sessions include an address by the keynote speaker.
- All Special Interest Ministry sessions include open floor discussion.
- In most instances, notes are scribed during service and sent to subscribers via e-mail on a weekly basis.
As it was during the children of Israel's travels through the wilderness, while some attendees are provided with a designated area to take babies when restless, our children remain in the presence of the Lord with us during service.
CDs of services are available on request and at no charge.
When attending Remnant, there's no need to dress in the stereotypical "Sunday's best". God simply requires that we bring a pure heart, be clothed with humility, and be ready to receive His word in meekness.
