The early church continued stedfastly in prayer. Remnant Christian Assembly strives to ensure that its congregation understands the importance and functionality of prayer.
Our Bible Study Dynamics course has a section dedicated to "Scripture and Prayer". We firmly believe that every true Christian has the potential to have a dynamite prayer life and encourages all to pursue it. Consider the following passages on prayer:
(Luke 18:1) And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint....
(Luke 21:36) Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
(Luke 22:40) And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
(Philippians 1:9-11) And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.
(Colossians 1:9-10) For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God....
(1 Thessalonians 5:17) Pray without ceasing.
(2 Thessalonians 3:1-2) Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.
(1 Timothy 2:8) I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
(James 5:16) Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
(1 John 5:16) If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
In addition to all these truths, God's word also teaches us that "
If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me..." (Psalm 68). Therefore, embracing prayer automatically requires that we embrace holiness. Prayer without the embracing of holiness is an abominable act (Proverbs 15:8).
